I know Will said this about 80 years ago but I think he was just looking into the future all the way to the 2012 Republican primaries. I had trouble deciding what the title of the post would be so I copped out and did two.  As Will says if you really want to know what a person is all about just ask those who have worked with him.  I pride myself in having some pretty close relationships with those I have worked with in the past. No, I don’t mean in a sexual sense so take that thought out of your mind immediately.  For the most part I think you would get some pretty good words if you asked my co-workers about me.

What seems pretty strange about the candidacy of Newt Gingrich for president is the lack of endorsement by those who have worked with him in the past. Over the years he has worked fairly closely with perhaps thousands of people but there seems to be only a small handful who are willing to say that he would make a good president. Sarah Palin, who probably never worked with Newt, seems to be the most prominent endorser on his website? So, what is the line on Newt? The silence among those who have worked with him is almost deafening.

There are many comments around as to why people believe he is even running for that office. Some say it is to sell more books. Some say he, like Donald Trump who recently endorsed him, just needs a boost to his gigantic ego.  I even recently heard someone say that Newt views himself as a twenty-first century Napoleon who is coming back to save the world. I don’t know the answer as to why he is even running but I get the line on the man from the silence of those he has worked with.

My Republican friends don’t seem to like anyone in their field for president. I can’t imagine that whoever ends up with the nomination will actually occupy the Oval Office. The only thing they seem intent on is getting Obama out and cutting/eliminating taxes on the 1%ers. As one of them said “He is not concerned with the poor” and to him that includes almost all of us. Some people have compassion for the “single parent households” but these guys think that the “single household parents” are who deserve the pity. After all how can you survive with just one house?
