Something About Running the Country…

There is people so excited over this election that they think the President has something to do with running this country. – 30 October 1932   Will Rogers

I am going to leave the quote above to pretty much stand on it own.  Many want to blame the president on everything that happens in the country. “It rained so much today, it must be the president’s fault”.  I am more of a realist maybe.  I don’t think any of those yahoos in Washington have much to do with what happens in the country. And thanks heavens for that!

He puts on his pants one leg at a time – just like the rest of us. He does have an amazing intellect, which I truly appreciate.

He is very intelligent and a great speaker. His original idea, or so he said, was to reach across the aisle and bring the sides together for the good of the country. I don’t blame him for everything that’s wrong in our country. But, I do think his manner or style whatever you want to call it has made the rancor and division worse. I also think he is not above deceiving the public if he deems it necessary. He comes across as arrogant and unable to compromise. That’s my take at the moment. And I voted for him!

President Obama is definitely not a “good old boy” like his predecessor was. I think arrogance and confidence are two sides of the same coin. And I voted form him, twice…

But I stand by the quote, what the president does has little to do with how many people are hired by the local McDonald and that seems to be the jobs so far for most in the 21st century. Food services at $2.30/hours for our waiters is the only growing segment in our economy right now. That’s because with no insurance or sick days they can be bought dirt cheap…

Why do we honor men like FDR then?
A great President looks to lead…in war and peace.
