Settled by 100 Million Voters or 100 Millionaires in the Senate

The impeachment inquiry into the current Oval Office occupant (#CO3) is going in full force now. Some say that is a good thing but some also say that that is just what this guy wants. He wants it to be about him, even if it is threatening.

The title above is from David Brooks on a recent PBS Newshour episode and it carries a lot of weight with me. I think it is very important that future presidents realize that they can’t get away with trashing the constitution as #CO3 does daily. The strongest way to say that is with impeachment. But given the current implosion of the Republican party I just can’t see where half of the GOP Senators will declare him guilty.

What will likely happen if the House impeaches him is going to be a sham of all shams. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Majority Leader have a 10-minute trial and then call for a vote and just dare anyone from the Republican party to cast a guilty vote. If there is anyplace where anonymous voting, as mentioned in a previous post, is needed it is there!

If there is a vote, and he is not found guilty it would likely do more harm to our country than not. I am certain that this coming presidential election will be the ugliest ever no matter what. I may just play ostrich and turn off the TV between May and November. In my old age I just don’t have the gumption to even try to stay informed. But, what I will do is to keep pumping money into his Democratic opponent.

Is it better to hope that 100 millionaires in the Senate kick this guy out a few months early or to all 100 million citizens to do it in November? I just don’t know the answer to that question yet. I guess we will just have to wait to see if it is even possible for the GOP Senators to grow some courage to do what they know is right for our future prosperity. Given their track record so far I highly doubt that growth will happen.

I just wonder if things were reversed and Trump had won the Democratic nomination whether they would implode as the GOP has?

What is your opinion on all of this?
