It looks like the impeachment hearing are headed toward an end before Christmas. But, as usual I have a contrarian attitude toward that schedule. That is what this post is all about.
I do agree that it is less complicated to pick one of the many things that #CO3 has done to address impeachment. After all, that is how we got Al Capone. The prosecutors ignored the fact that he killed dozens of people and treated the law with total contempt. Trying to prosecute him on all those things, while noble, was just too difficult a task. The same thing holds for the current Oval Office occupant.
I kinda got the idea that the Democrats know that he will never be convicted by the GOP cronies in the Senate, and they just want to get this out of the way, so they can use it against those who still fail to hold him accountable for ANY of his actions. It was very prophetic of him to claim that he could take a gun and kill someone in the middle of 5th Ave and no one would go after him. I never would have imagined that a similar scenario would actually play out. But, as usual, I am getting off the primary topic of this post, so let’s get down to business.
I know that in 2016 all of us sane voters were totally aghast as to what happened that November day. We couldn’t have imagined that he would lose the election by more than 3 million votes but still get elected. I pray we will never allow that to happen again! Now, to the core of it. We need something in place for those two months between the time he is utterly defeated and the day he leaves the White House. I can’t even imagine the damage that guy will do to get back at all us non-believers. One thing he will likely do is to pardon anyone currently in prison who he thinks might be advantageous to his post presidency. I suspect that is only the tip of the iceberg so to speak.
I know this has been a long journey through this post, but the idea is to have the trial the day after the elections to drive him out of office before he can do more spiteful damage. I can only hope that some gutless GOP Senators will grow a spine by that time.
What do you think?
