It’s Time For A New Political Party… Probably Two.

For all those Republicans who are trying to pull away from Trump, I encourage you to be brave enough to do just that. Yes, I know he has a number of intelligence-challenged citizens that will vote for him because he reflects their mentality, but you must be brave enough to put them back into the fringes.

Trump has been on the political scene now for seven years. It’s time for him to go and if he doesn’t, then it’s time for you to go. You started out as the party of Lincoln, but you are now an extreme opposite. If you don’t have the courage to FIGHT to get your party back, at least have enough sense to leave this one that is now in ruins and strike out in new territory. The Republican Party was formed in 1854 because its predecessor, the Whigs, would not accept the equality of mankind. They insisted that those of a different color were meant to be owned by Caucasians. Maybe it’s time for you to also strike off in a different direction?

I, personally, am a fiscal conservative who has absolutely nowhere to go in the political world. That very idea seems to be totally abandoned now. Have the guts to reclaim that agenda, and you just might get my vote again. I am tired of the endless spending that the Democrats espouse, but there is no place to go in that direction either. We are stuck with the only semi-sane party now.

I think most of us are somewhere between these two current worst-case options, and are looking for other choices. The first thing to do is to get rid of the worst party, and then take a serious look at the other as the second shoe dropped. Do you have the guts to be that party for us?

  1. I agree about the need for either a new party or the death/rebirth for what passes as the GOP today.

Probably the quickest path is for Trump to split from the Republicans and form a third party. That would allow those
who remain to rebuild a national base that focuses on fiscal responsibility and rational social policies, without the cult of personality and extremism controlling everything.

    1. I agree that the quickest path would be to get enough Republicans to force Trump into a third party, but it doesn’t seem that there are more than a handful are presently willing to do that. Time will tell, I guess.
