About Living History Museums & Historical Sites

Living History Museums and Historical Sites have held a special place in my heart for just about my whole lifetime. I have visited many of these places in my “search of America”. It is hard to say which is my favorite. Like your children, they all are special but there are two that make my heart beat a little faster even still. Those are Williamsburg, Virginia and Mesa Verde, Colorado.

I wish Mr. Shuler, my old high school history teacher from the 1960s were still around so I could thank him for spurring this interest in me. He would be proud of the level of knowledge I have obtained of this subject.  Sadly, there just doesn’t seem to be any money allocated to preserving our historical heritage nowadays. I am fearful that generations to come will never be told how we got here.
