E pluribus unum

I spent today housebound recuperating from my recent rib fracture so I had a lot of time on my hands. Much of it has been spent sprucing up my various blogs. This one got a new header and captions. During my hours at my computer today I glanced at the penny on my desk.  I don’t know why it is there but it got me to thinking about the phrase used as the title of this post.

E pluribus unum is latin for “One of Many”. No, I couldn’t read that phrase on the penny, my eyes are not that good anymore, but I knew it was there just the same. That got my mind wandering about the phrase and then it came to me that I am the e pluribus unum of the Baby Boomer generation. I am at the head of the herd of those who will be following me.  After several hours I finally found a header picture worthy of that thought.  Maybe I should concentrate on that idea a little more on this blog. Being at the front of the herd does not necessarily mean I am a leader but it does  mean I’m not looking at as many rear ends.  There will be millions of Boomers coming behind me so maybe I can give them some “heads-up” about what they are going to be facing (as if I really know anything about it). :)

So here I am

E Pluribus Enum – At the Front of the Herd.
