Ok here is what is making the news today. See the full article via the link at the bottom of this post. It seems that some of these Tea Party electees think that not only is healthcare for the poor optional but so is clean air to breath and water to drink for all of us. They have declared that many of these environmental issues are just too much of a nuisance for our poor business corporations who seem to be struggling to make more than a $billion in profits each month. So the rest of us will just have to “man up” and tolerate dirty water and stinky air. I think I am beginning to see a trend here?
As I have mentioned in previous posts the Tea Party people just want to be left alone and not bothered by anything outside of themselves. It seems they prefer an “Everyone for themselves” government. Some people call that Anarchy but I guess they don’t see it that way. They see it as being able to keep all their money to themselves. Some call that Greed but again I guess they don’t see it that way.
Here are some of the tidbits of wisdom coming from these newly elected governors
In Florida, Governor Scott has asked to cut staff members to 40 from 358 at the Department of Community Affairs, which regulates land use and was created to be a control on unchecked urban sprawl.
Weeks after he was sworn in as governor of Maine, Paul LePage, a Tea Party favorite, announced a 63-point plan to cut environmental regulations, including opening three million acres of the North Woods for development and suspending a law meant to monitor toxic chemicals that could be found in children’s products.
I guess we will have to wait and see how all this shakes out. But I do kind of like to be able to breath and get a drink of water once in a while. It would be nice to be able to plan on continuing to do that in the future. Next time I will tell you some of the epiphanies that the governor of my State has come up with. Some say he will be a presidential candidate next year so you might want to pay a little attention to how he thinks we should settle this deficit issue.
But what do I know….
