If you seniors out there want to learn about some of the tech innovations in 2011 I would suggest you read this article. There are about a dozen significant things that surfaced in 2011 on the new technology front.
One of the first things I noticed in this article is that the author constantly mentions that some of the new products coming on the market are almost as good as Apple products. That seems to be a common mantra the last few years. I finally realized that if it is “almost as good” then why not just buy the Apple product.

Hi RJ, Big fan of Apple products here, just hope Apple can continue its innovative leadership with the passing of Steve Jobs. I worked for HP for ~10 years in the post Bill & Dave (Hewlett & Packard) era and witnessed first hand what I consider their downfall. But for now, really really like my iPad 2!

Hi Scott, I started out in the Apple fold and was driven away by a corporate mandate but I am back full steam now! I spent many many hours with HP equipment in the 1980s building test sets. They certainly made top notch stuff back then.
