Kennett Square, PA – Longwood Gardens

Longwood Gardens is one of the U.S.  premiere botanical gardens. It was the private estate of Pierre DuPont from 1906 to the mid 1930’s. It is over 1,000 acres so plan on spending the day there.  DuPont is an American chemical company that was founded in July 1802 as a gunpowder mill. Pierre was an heir of the founder.
