Thank you, Micheal, for the Progressive Christianity post above. For some reason, I have never put those two things in a “vs” position. I know that after my serious 4 years study of the Bible years ago, I always had some serious contentions with Pre-Jesus biblical text. Often times, the Old and the New Testament seem to be complete opposites.

God of the Old Testament demanded some pretty serious actions, as shown in the example of the words above, and others like killing off entire populations to take over their land. I have enormous trouble trying to adore that kind of god.

It seems that the most often quoted text for Christian Nationalists is the Old Testament, and that bothers me greatly.
