The Times, They Are a Changing…

Being a Bob Dylan fan, but only during his folk music years, I thought it appropriate to use his words for this post. I have been posting at RJsCorner for sixteen years now.

With this post, I want to tell you why.

A good part of my corporate world work life was spent fixing processes and building software tools to do that. It seems I never saw a process that I didn’t think could be made better. I was pretty successful at accomplishing that as I got some serious recognition for my work and a healthy pay raises that helped my retirement checks in the coming years. I’m sure I more than earned my keep and all the money they have paid me for the past 24 years since my retirement began by the work I did in just the last couple of years.

That “Mr Fixit” mentality worked well for my corporate career, and stayed with me in my post-retirement life. RJsCorner became firmly based on that mindset. I was always looking for things to improve. Even my first years in my RetCom (retirement community), I have tried to suggest changes, but the RetCom administration is pretty well stuck on continuing to live in the 20th century so that was pretty much a failure. That was a hard lesson to learn.

Now that I am approaching my final years in life (however long that might be), I need to fundementally change course. I need to ignore the problems of today and focus on celebrating the good things in my life, which now include my artsy endeavors.

When I opened my new blog RJsMosaics eight months ago I was determined to turn a corner. It’s time to leave all the baggage of RJsCorner and start fresh.

I will leave my 5500 blog posts here in hiatus for another few months until its current subscription expires. During that time I may add a post or two, but RJsMosaics will garner my almost total attention going forward.

I certainly hope some of you who are still around will come to RJsMosaic (click on this name here to go there). It’s been fun these last 16 years, but it is simply time for a serious simplifying change of direction.
