The Side Effects Of Being Smart

As long as I can remember, my mantra in life has been

I pride myself in living up to those words in my life.

BUT

But, putting these words into action sometimes has some serious side effects.

These three things and an IQ test have shown me that I am smarter than most people I have encountered in life. I don’t mention being smart much on RJsCorner, since sometimes people just hate those who are smart. Let’s face it, some people don’t like those who think differently, and smart people usually act differently. Personally, I have enough problems with being deaf and an Aspie, why should I pile yet another reason for people to dislike me?

Some people are pushed to do better by talented people, but most people aren’t built like that, so they get mad. Being intelligent is being good at something, the ability to learn, and that bothers people. The average person has a pretty basic understanding of most things, but they’ve never taken the time to engage in much of anything fully. Smart people are more likely to fully engage in a topic and develop a better understanding of it, and when that topic is done, they move on to the next one.

I’ve come to the conclusion that you should feel sorry for the smart people who have to put up with the scorn of many simply because they

I know that smart people can make others feel inferior. Personally, I don’t even think about that. I think of it more as helping others understand things they might not currently know.
