Mosaic of Life #155 – One Place…

I’m pretty much restricted to my RetCom (retirement community) now, but if there were one place I would like to revisit, it would be Ellis Island. Except for my great-grandmother, I expect most of my ancestors came through that facility. It was “the gateway to opportunity” for so many. I was only there once, when we were tour guides for visiting relatives. I could have spent all day there, but after a mere 2-3 hours, they were ready to tackle NYC.

Today, Ellis Island is a museum that directly conflicts with what is happening today. I wonder if, eventually, the current administration will start going through the millions of records there to try to find people whom they can send back to where their ancestors came from.
