Brain Fog

In my 78th year, brain fog seems to be a common occurence. Some morning I get up and am immediately ready to do some serious writing/blogging right off the bat. And then there are others when I can’t even seem to find my desk.

This fact is in direct conflict with my obsession relative to having everything on a list. When I wake up in a brain fog and my lists tell me to write, I most often do nothing. I hate that.

Its been 25 years since I left the corporate world, maybe it is about time to give up my addiction to being in control. Maybe I should just send many of my “control” tools to the trashcan and just go with the flow. But given my 60 year addiction, that will be much harder said than done.

(Even if it isn’t on the list)

  1. As a life-long list maker, I can relate. Even the normal daily tasks are included so I can check them off to feel a sense of accomplishment.

But, there are too many times when something I want to accomplish today gets moved to tomorrow, or the next day, only to be moved again.

Brain fog or terminal procrastination? I am not sure, but the effect is the same.
