The marketing folks have once again to convinced many of us that our carpet contains germs, dirt and other such unhealthy things. So, we must all immediately strip out all our carpet and replace it with fake wood floors.
I will admit that I watch the TV series “House Hunters” at lunch everday, and almost without exception when ever an American goes into a room with carpet the immediate response is “THAT HAS TO GO”. We Americans wouldn’t be the consumer fanatics we are if we ever managed to quit listening to marketing people.
I guess the next thing they will attack is that
“FURNITURE FABRIC IS WORSE THAN CARPET!!”

Can you imagine all the dead skin cells that are imbedded into your couch after all the naps you have taken there!
It’s time to put vinyl covers over all your furniture. If you don’t your dead skin cells will probably kill you.
Long story short, all those TV Jewish mothers were right all along.
In reality you likely have more germs in your mouth than in your carpet and furniture combined.
I’m not sure which one is worse, old-wives tales or modern-day marketeers.
We sure a gullible bunch, aren’t we?

Agree totally, RJ! My wife and I are carpet fans. We’ve had homes with real hardwood floors and other hard floorings but the most comfortable and pleasant were the ones with wall to wall carpeting. And, what you didn’t mention is that those same people who get rid of the carpeting immediately go out and buy expensive large rugs to cover the new hard flooring 🙃😆!

Yeah, I did miss that one didn’t I. Thanks for bringing it up. I love my carpets. Many of the apartments in my retirement community have what I call “rubber floors” that I would absolutely not accept.
