Quote For Today
I am not only a pacifist but a militant pacifist. I am willing to fight for peace. Nothing will end war unless the people themselves refuse to go to war.
-Albert Einstein (1879 – 1955)
Since I was born in 1946, I am at the front end of the Baby Boomer generation. Many of the subsequent generations seem to say that we caused all the problems that are happening today. Of course, I see things differently, especially when it comes to our endless wars. As Einstein said almost a hundred years ago, wars won’t end until the people say NO MORE.
I was in college the last half of the 1960s when there were many demonstrations by Boomers against the Vietnam War. Eventually, those demonstrations ended that seemingly endless war that took more than 55,000 of my generation’s lives.
Einstein’s discovery of E=MC² started the path to making the atomic bomb. That troubled him greatly in later years.
