Everybody Has a Spiritual Side

Everyone has a spiritual side whether they admit it or not. There are just some parts to our world and life experiences that can’t be explained mathematically or by rationalization. How do we handle those things? Some of us blindly ignore those thoughts, but often that just drives them deeper into our psyche.

The biggest unexplained thing for me is my empathy. I care personally and deeply for the adversities that others face in their lives. Perhaps that’s because I have had more than my share, so I know what they are going through. The order of almost everything in the world from the tiniest flower to what makes people seek goodness can’t be explained logically. Those things happen at a deeper level.

It used to be the religious institutions filled the spiritual side for many, but because of all the right-wing evangelical things happening now, fewer and fewer are making that choice.

It just seems that too many religions just can’t take any serious questions about many things they tell you to believe. They realize that science has proven their historical documents wrong and that disturbs them greatly. Instead of finally admitting that they might have somethings wrong, they dive deeply into the other direction. I hope that whatever is left can eventually be salvaged.

Getting back to the point of this post, yes I have a spiritual side in believing all the wonders I see in the world of nature can’t have happened by accident. To me there must be some force is behind many things that I don’t understand. The point where I would give up even that thought would be science being able to product life where none existed before.
