The number two Republican in the House of Representatives almost tanked the recent compromise on making some tax breaks for the middle class permanent. The reason, he says it does not solve all our fiscal problems. Mr. Cantor seems to think that every bill that goes through the House must be the be-all and end-all for the problems being addressed. Particularly those involving our safety net. He must think every problem has a silver bullet.
For that reason I am outing him as being the Lone Ranger of the 21st century. He kind of looks like the original Lone Ranger too doesn’t he? But I wonder who he thinks is his sidekick Tonto?
Someone needs to tell Mr. Cantor that our problems are just too complicated for the Lone Ranger principle. He needs to roll up his sleeves, take off his mask, and fix what he thinks is broken a piece at a time. But that takes compromise and I’m not at all sure he has that quality in him. :) But I still wonder who his Tonto is? I bet it is a Tea Party guy. They don’t have many minorities in the GOP so it will probably have to be an old white guy dressed up in an indian outfit.
I’m kind of getting a kick out of this persona business so next time I will report on who Mr. Boehner’s persona is.

Don’t neglect Mitch McConnell, RJ. I almost feel sorry for Boehner…almost. He has no clue on how to deal with the TP reps.

Hi Denise, you stole my thunder here. Boehner is my Monday post (I think) and McConnell soon after that. I think you will enjoy the persona I gave them. This persona stuff is kind of fun and I hope some of my friends of different political beliefs will take them as a little lighter commentary… As Will says I never really met a man I didn’t like…

Reid and McConnell are both coming up next week on my list so stay tuned for that… I’m glad this category is getting some interest; it will be fun to pursue for more of those yahoos in D.C.
