THE Mosaic…

This post is a Mosaic post and a “Having My Say” post combined. Of course, that demands a story.

When I started my “Mosaic of Life” project about 16 months ago, it was on a 3′ by 4′ whiteboard that soon became overpopulated. I moved it to a 4′ x 8′ felt Corkboard. From there, it grew to 4′ x 10′. Then, about a month ago, I was asked to set up a gallery showing of my artwork, so that required another, more portable medium. My mosaic of life, along with thirty larger single works, now resides in a gallery for the next couple of months.

In the meantime, I have decided to continue with this “Mosaic of Life” project for the foreseeable future. To accomplish that, I still need more space. I now have a 6′ x 9′ wall covered with felt Corkboard. I built this version of the wall without a definite plan on how to use it. Then I found an app that consolidated all of the current 150 or so post images into one digital image shown above.

The plan going forward is to follow the above scheme in the “touch & feel” world. I am for the most part a digital guy, but there is just something being able to actually touch what I create.

So, that is where I stand now. Below is a picture of the wall as it exists today. I don’t know if it will hold all the remaining and future posts. There may be some overlap, but that’s ok. I want to celebrate as much of my life as I can, given the time I have left on this earth.
