Quote For Today
Show me a thoroughly satisfied man and I will show you a failure.
-Thomas Edison-
I have been struggling for some time now to find the thing that will give me total satisfaction for these final years of my life, when in fact that is something I never want to actually happen. The quote above gave me that insight. Being thoroughly satisfied means that I have found all the answers to my constant questions. But, as Socrates showed me, I know nothing. It is my lifetime journey to learn something new every day. I have to simply quit looking for that all-inclusive thing that makes life understandable. If I ever did find it that would mean the rest of my days would be BORING.
Instead of searching for total satisfaction, I should follow another quote in this area
Do one thing every day that scares you.
– Eleanor Roosevelt –

Without many of the pressures and responsibilities of other stages of our life, now is when we have the most freedom to explore and stretch.

But we have to keep challenging ourselves to constantly find areas worthy of our time. I am currently struggling with that myself. But that too will pass…
