Here in Indiana where I live there are two things that are almost certain about the month of March. The first one is March Madness and that is the high school and college basketball playoffs. The second thing is the final snowstorm of the season.
Basketball, and other amateur sports, seems to be in the blood of many Hoosiers. I must admit I am not one of those however. In earlier years I did follow the playoffs but didn’t really watch many of them. Now I have no idea who would be even playing in any of the games. At this point in my life I just don’t have any room for any spectator sports to speak of. The super bowl to me is a very big serving of Honey Nut Cheerios. :)
The second thing about March I do pay attention to. I wait anxiously throughout the month to see when the final storm comes. It is usually at least six incher. Some years it doesn’t happen but that seems to be the exception rather than the rule. Here we are in the third day of the month and as is typical the temperature will get into the 50s so I have hopes that it won’t happen this year. But I am like the person waiting for the second shoe to drop. I know it will probably come and the anticipation is driving me crazy. Spring is in my blood now so I want to pull the snow plow off my garden tractor and put the mowing deck back on. That is always the final passage into Spring. But of course I dare not do that.
So here I am as usual anxiously awaiting Spring but I realize I have to go through the usual March stuff to get there
And the journey goes on…
