Here is a picture I took in 2009 at the aquarium on Fishers Wharf in San Francisco. Jellyfish just don’t seem real to me. I was totally entranced by this display.
A tank full of jellyfish is awe inspiring. An ocean filled with them floating around your legs is a totally different story. It all depends on the context.
The illumination of jellyfish is becoming standard order for the institutional aquariums that I have visited. They are a wonderful reminder of the mystery and uniqueness of our oceans.

Yeah, I understand they make a pretty nasty sting. But they are beautiful from a distance or behind a thick piece of glass (ha)
