It’s hard to imagine that the philosophy of “Simplicity” has been in existence for 3,000 years or more! I have not done much study of the day-to-day life of Greece, but compared to today, it must have been utterly simple back then. Except for bare existence, I don’t imagine there was much to complicate a person’s life. I wonder what Socrates would say if he were suddenly dropped into 2026 life? I’m pretty sure he would have said that ABSOLUTELY NO ONE LISTENED TO MY WORDS.

The symbol here caught my eye recently. The idea of simplicity is represented by several distinct symbols across design, philosophy and mathematics. The symbol above is an Enso/Zen Circle for Simplicity. It represents enlightenment, strength, elegance, and the void.
