“The essence of simplicity is finding and embracing the essential while removing the unnecessary to reveal clarity, focus, and elegance. It is a state of mind and a deliberate action that removes clutter from life, thoughts, and actions to align with one’s true nature and values.“
Open AI
I’m going to give credit where credit is due with this quote. I asked Open AI what the essence of simplicity was. The above quote is what came out. I’m sure that very few people would give AI as the source; they would instead sign the author as themselves. I’m sure that is especially true of those who make a living from the words they publish.
AI in some form or another will likely be the next game changer. Just what that looks like is almost impossible to know right now. That’s why all the big tech companies are putting big bucks into it. This kinda reminds me of the dot.com boom and bust of 25 years ago. Everyone was rushing to get their claim on that on-line phenomena. Google ended up being one of the winners of that new technology via their remarkable search engine. Who will win the AI wars is still up for grabs.
During the dot.com boom there was all kinds of speculation about all the jobs that would be lost because of the Internet “frenzy”. I can go back even further to the invention of the calculator and the fears it brought on.
But one thing that is for sure is that technological advances from AI will bring on more jobs. Calculator didn’t eliminate mathematicians, and AI won’t replace human expertise. Instead, it will allow people to become even more productive in searching for info, organizing info faster, and a myriad of other things which leaves more time for creativity to flourish.
While I likely won’t be around to see how this plays out, I would have loved to have been born in the 21st century so I could be more involved in AI.
