There is No Left Brain/Right Brain Divide..

You are hardly alone if you believe that humanity is divided into two great camps: the left-brain and the right-brain thinkers – those who are logical and analytical versus those who are intuitive and creative. For years, an industry of books, tests and videos has flourished on this concept. It seems to be natural law. Except, it isn’t. SOURCE: There is No Left Brain/Right Brain Divide | TIME.com. I think this story is missing the point when it comes to right brain vs. left brain.  It is not so important to whether the differences are in the left/right or the top/bottom … Continue reading There is No Left Brain/Right Brain Divide..

I Am A Morning Person….

When I was a teenager it took a bomb to get me out of bed. The first class of the day in high school started at 8:00am. I can barely remember much about them.  When I was in college I was plagued with many 7:30am classes. The only “D” I got in college was in speedy reading. For the most part that time was spent “sleeping in” and therefore the “D”.  Over the years that condition has slowly changed. In … Continue reading I Am A Morning Person….

Comic Books Made Me Who I Am???

Cosmic Log – Bam! How comics teach science. The source article above doesn’t have much to do with this post other than invoking some buried thoughts from my childhood. The comics they talk about in no way resemble the ones I read when I was a kid. I haven’t been around comic books in years so I don’t know what the general contexts are now. But one thing I am pretty sure of is that I’m sure of is that is where I gained my first real interest … Continue reading Comic Books Made Me Who I Am???

Right Brain Screaming.

I have brought up a new blog at RightBrainScreaming.net . This one will be used to flex my creative muscle. As I mentioned before my right brain which controls creativity has not had much exercise in my life. Being an engineer I lived primarily in the analytical world. So my right brain has been screaming for attention lately! I needed a different format for this one so that is why it is on a new blog instead of a category here.  As well as eventually displaying some of my creative splurges  I will also be celebrating others creativeness in posts. Starting … Continue reading Right Brain Screaming.

My Right Brain is Screaming Lately…..

Scientists have discovered that the left side of our brains control our perceptions of logic and order while the right side controls our creativity. I have spent pretty much the last sixty five years of my life with the left side of my brain controlling what I do and what I think.  I was an engineer for thirty of those years and that meant I spent hours logically going about analyzing the task at hand and then solving it. The last part of those years were spent writing software applications for other engineers to use.  Yeah, some of that work involved creating thinking … Continue reading My Right Brain is Screaming Lately…..
