I’ve been thinking about what I will leave as my legacy. Everyone wants to believe that they left this world a little better off because they were here. That is what this post is all about.
My morning shower starts my day in the same way every morning. I thank the Lord for the days in the past that he has given me and ask him to help me make the most of the one I am now starting. I don’t want to waste even a minute. But I realize that I will never really be able to accomplish that but I hope that I am able to the best of my abilities be a deeply feeling person in a time when empathy has become a partisan slur by many that claim they believe in the same creator as I.
I hope that when my time comes that I will be able to see that I have left this world a little safer, kinder, more decent, and maybe even a little funnier. I’m not looking to claim grand feats. I just hope that a few will remember me as a kind and upright person who had my say about what matters in the world.
I don’t want to waste any day I get now but instead appreciate every minute. I hope that in some small way I have made room at the table for the excluded, the uninvited, and the unloved.
I want to leave the world a little lighter than when I got here.
You already have – and please keep it up. Peace…
