I know my posts here and at RJsMosaic have been few and far between in the last month or so. I have been busy planning my projects for 2025.
I live in a RetCom (retirement community) so you would think that planning for the future should be a task that no longer needs addressing. If I want them, my meals are prepared for me every day. But since I can’t tolerate “Feedlot” dining, I don’t partake of that very often. Someone comes once a week to clean my apartment. Almost everything is done for me, if I just have to let them know what I want.
But, the truth is that planning is important, even in stage of my life. If I don’t plan out my days, they just seem to run boringly together. I have been, and will continue to be a purpose-driven to my core, so I simply can’t allow that to happen. For the last several years, I spend the time between my birthday in late October and the new year, setting up projects for the coming year. That way, when the Times Square Ball drops, I am ready to go full speed ahead in a changed direction.
A couple of those things for 2025 include continuing with my two blogs. Yeah, I know that, much like landlines, blogging is rapidly going out of favor, everything appears to be one big commercial now. But until I find an alternative to blogging, I will continue where I am, but just at a slower pace.
Here are some things happening in the new year.

RJsCorner will be changing its format yet again.
As mentioned, the “regular”Having My Say” blog posts will come less frequent. Much of my time at RJC will now concentrate on life stories called “Contemplations”. They will take on the classification of short stories of around 7,500 words and cover central topics of my life. I am still working out the details on this new format, but it will start on January 1, 2025.
RJsMosaic will have a new addition.
Clothesline Art – From My Mind’s Eye.
This is where I finally let my creative side shine like never before. In 2022, I travelled 9,000 miles across the country in my custom-made camper searching out what ways to exercise my creative talents to their fullest. I learned a lot about myself during that trip, and RJsMosaic which came about in 2023 was the first leg on the journey. Clothesline Art will be the 2025 version. Of course, I will have more words about this before rollout day.
I am excited to start this new journey through these two topics, and maybe a few others that are still being considered for the coming year.

You never settle for what has been, but always strive for what could be. That approach to this final stage of of our lives is inspiring and motivating.
Never give up the quest, my friend.

Thanks again, for your kind words, Bob. I am currently in the process of re-writing my will, so some of these issues are naturally coming up. Practically, all of my estate is going to help the downtrodden and those who just need a helping hand. It is really nice to see that there are so many possibilities to contribute to. Until I started seriously thinking about all this, I never really realized how strong empathy is in my life. I want to make a difference, so maybe this is my legacy.

Short stories! I am ready for some good reads.
I have to admit I haven’t been to your art blog. Clothesline art. Does that imply local- through you lenses? I’ll be joining you there as well.

Thanks for your thoughts, Janette. I am now working up a list of titles for the short stories that will cover many of the categories here at RJC. Of course, many of these stories will contain posts from the past, all six-thousand of them. 😁 If this turns out, I may even try to self-publish them into a book.
Clothesline Art is meant to be things that “ordinary” people would be drawn to. I appreciate the art masters of the past, but there are just so many floors in museums today dedicated to that. It just seems that so many rich people decide that their legacy in life is to have a room with their name above the door that is filled with very expensive paintings. That’s a sad commentary to me.
A significant part CLA will likely be abstract in nature. Not weird abstract, but the good stuff that comes from my mind’s eye.
