The Bible is a human product: it tells us how our religious ancestors saw things, not how God sees them
Marcus J. Borg
I’m pretty sure there are hundreds, maybe even thousands, of different versions of the Bible today. So, which one did she write?
This dilemma is similar to that of the Christian church itself; there are now 25,000+ versions of that institution. Which one is the REAL church? I’m sure every one of the 25,000 believes it is.

the bible or bible(s) were probably written to beg people who are pathologically demand avoidant to adhere to some semblance of decency and structure. the mustard seed idea implies this. here is a story! do with it what you will. wink wink. sadly, bibles suffer from the corruption of profit just like everything.
i think it was the maddaddam series from margaret atwood that had a bunch of people sitting around after an apocolypse writing the ‘bible’ …or that was implied. i can’t remember, it’s been years since i read this. what was striking was that it was just some people who felt it needed to be done.
anyway, humans should evolve to create a common sense list of guidelines that aren’t hard to follow. we kind of get this by googling things. or asking friends on facebook, or strangers on reddit, or searching wikipedia, quora, etc. …kind of. if we can revolutionize an open source, non denominational list and/or flow chart of solutions maybe we can actually free up some space in our brains for way better things. telepathy isn’t a promise, but one can wish.
i love stories and analogy and nuance and allegory, but sometimes people just need things spelled out. we only have these fully formed adult human brains for so long & most of our brain power goes to the mundane business of financially meeting our basic human needs by buying things and paying a landlord.
meanwhile, there is hope that we’ve also learned collectively and individually about emotional intelligence(EI), socio-emotional learning(SEL) & sensory regulation over the years. theoretically, decency should be rote or even mechanical by now. helping nature, animals and people who are suffering should be as easy as blinking and yet. suffering persists.
