The image above is from the last road trip my wife made together before her death. It was at the Cleveland Westside Market Cafe taken in 2017. It brings joyful memories to see this MME image.
I have decided to dedicate the weekends going forward to creating artsy objects. I have compiled quite a collection of digital apps that assist me in that process. So, I will be taking some of the photos in my massive portfolio and, using the tools I now have at hand, I will create “My Mind’s Eye” images.
In case you forgot, the idea “MyMind’sEye” (I call it MME for short) comes from Shakespeare’s Hamlet. The literal definition is
The ability to “see” pictures, scenes, or people in your head—even when those things are not physically present in front of you.
I seem to have that ability in spades now, and thank heavens I have the tools to actually create the images my mind sees. I know you purists out there probably think that using digital tools somehow degrades the creative process. I see it differently.
No, I haven’t spent decades endlessly experimenting with messy and often toxic paints to create the above image. The creative part of MME comes from what comes from my mind sees, the rest of it is just implementation.
