If you have been around RJsCorner much, you know that I am in a philosophical mode these past few years. Part of that has to do with my 2026 “Words Of Wisdom (WOW) project, but a bigger part has to do with learning how to think. That is what philosophy is all about.

Kant was a German philosopher in the mid to late 1700s. According to Wikipedia his studies centered on the desire to secure the possibility of both knowledge and morality against the threats of Skepticism and Determinism.  In plain English that means there should be some single thing that determines how we should think. His solution was called the Categorical Imperative. Boiling it down to just one sentence he said:

Before doing something, ask yourself — what if everyone did this?

If that hasn’t kicked in for you, just think about it for a few seconds. The thought is deeper than the words contained in it. If the answer to that question a total collapse of humanity as we know it, then it is wrong.

Sometimes philosophy can be as simple as that
