Saving The World Is Hard – Global Warming

In the coming years global warming will eventually be the number one issue for all of us (except maybe for the MAGA/Evangelical folks). I just hope that it rises to that status before it is too late to really do anything about it. We didn’t get into this mess because of one particular thing, and we won’t get out of it with just one thing. This post is about some things each of us can do to make sure global warming is addressed before it is too late.

Are We Praying To A Narcissist God?

With this post I am going to bring back my Sunday talks about spirituality and my enlightened view of things religious. This post is about praying to God.

Looking For Your Soul Mate

This post is about the journey of finding that person who makes you feel whole. The person who you want to spend your life with. What I say just might surprise you, especially coming from a seventy-three-year-old.

When Fear Is Your Religion

This post is based on 14 fears that dominate many in the MAGA version of the GOP. These fears were mostly gathered from a post by John Pavlovitz over at StuffThatNeedsToBeSaid. It is about how fear can totally paralyze a person’s worldview. There are many reasons to be fearful in this world today and these folks seem determined to find all of them even if they are myth. That is what this post is about.

A Hidden Gem…

I was pleasantly surprised to come across a hidden gem during one of my uRV trips this summer. I have been through Dayton Ohio several times before but never really looked for a place to visit besides the Dayton Air Museum. What I found was the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historic Site.

It’s All About Challenges…

As far as I am concerned, having a satisfying life is all about challenges. When I no longer have anything that tests or stretches me I am the most prone to periods of depression. That is what this post is all about.

The Good Old Days — Revisited

One of my regular viewers pointed out this post at RJsCorner from 2012. In some ways 8 years later is not as different as I thought it was. Looking back I even provide insight to myself. :)

Here is the post revisited. I would love to hear any comments you might have.

Eminently Close To The Breaking Point!

It’s as if I had looked at the sun for too long. I simply can’t gather the words to put out an intelligent post of the main topic of the day. This guy has destroyed my peace in some of the last years of my life! With that in mind I am for at least the next few weeks going to be celebrating those who can say in a picture what would take me a 1,000 words to describe. I simply can’t imagine the filth that will be spewing out of the Oval Office in the coming days. Too many … Continue reading Eminently Close To The Breaking Point!

Saving The World Is Hard… Part 1

How about that for a title, I’ll bet I got your attention. :) There are so many people in the world today that seem to think that every problem we have has a silver bullet solution. That means that there is one thing that we can do that will fix everything. But, some of us know better, don’t we? This is the first of a multi-part series about that topic.

A Septuagenarian’s Contemplation On Life

I am writing this on the first day of my 74th year and as I do every year, I am philosophically looking back to where I have come from and looking forward to making my final years the best they can be. That is what this post is going to be about.

President Warren As A Second Term President?

It might seem strange that I want Elizabeth Warren to be a one-term President as stated in a recent post here at RJsCorner. The reasons behind that statement are what this post is all about.

Augmented Reality #11 – Swimming With The Fishes.

I think all you semi-serious photographers out there know how this augmented Reality was formed. It is a quick snap of my display shelves using a fish eye lens. I wonder if that is how fish really see? :) The shelves used to be “book shelves” but since all those now reside in my e-book reader they have been repurposed to display all the artifacts from my uRV trips and “InSearchOfAmerica” wanderings along with my collection of cars. Socially Responsible Government?

It seems that so much of the rest of the countries of the world have learned that government by its fundamental nature must be a socially responsible institution. Yeah, we have “We the people…” at the beginning of our constitution, but lately we seem to be ignorant of what that means. Since social responsibility is one of my bedrock beliefs, I have been studying the Democratic field of presidential candidates to find those that have a socially responsible government as a core of their beliefs. I think I have found the candidate who epitomizes that arena.
