Omaha…

  Omaha is perhaps my favorite city. It has a small town feel but is ripe with history and preservation.  The sculptures strewn throughout the downtown area are awesome. It is also the home of the Durham Museum and Father Flanagan’s Boys Home. We spent four days there on two separate occasions and still haven’t seen all there is to see. A Few Of My Favorite Things…

No the title above does not mean that this is a tribute to The Sound Of Music. But it is about two of my favorite things and that is Hoosier Cabinets and historical re-enactors. I was once in the business of making Hoosier Cabinets reproduction. They were the home baking center in the early 1900s in many rural homes.  I also totally admire all those who help us to understand how life was in past ages. Time Is Money…

“Time is money” is a well known phrase in the world today. If we expend time on behalf of our employer we expect to be paid for it.  That seems to be a very American thing, my time is worth money is perhaps a bedrock of our capitalist society. Another tradition is overtime pay.  That says that I will give you a certain number of hours a week of my time but if you intrude into my private life portion you must pay more for it.
