Instead of Makeup…

2018-10-12_15-39-06.pngMakeup is a multi-billion dollar industry in this country.  Millions of vain women spend hours each day painting their faces with it. Why they do it I’m not sure. Some say it is to attract men. Some say they do it for other women. Some say they do it because of the insecurity of just presenting their natural beauty to the world.

2018-10-12_15-38-01.pngIn my world, women wearing makeup is second only to the mystery of why women wear high heels/stilts. I just can’t understand how any woman with at least an ounce of self-esteem thinks they need to be taller or wear painted masks. But I have come up with an idea for those insecure women when it comes to painting their faces.  If someone could just invent pre-painted masks that they could quickly put on in the morning, it would save them loads of money and maybe relieve their apprehensions about their appearance.

2018-10-12_15-36-41.pngThe inventor of these could come up with an app that would take your picture and photoshop it to make it look like you want.  They could present many different versions of you so you could wear a different mask for different occasions.

Before I end this post I do want you to understand that I have no problems with trying to create a unique persona to represent who you are.  I have had a goatee for several years now. I think it helps present to the world that I think of myself as a free-spirit. I don’t follow the crowd just for the sake of fitting in.  Some try to do the same thing by putting studs in their noses, lips, ears, and numerous other places.  Many seem to do it with tattoos, but I kinda think many of those regret that permanent decision down the road.  It just seems that as expensive and temporary as makeup is,  there are better ways…

Why are so many women low esteem masochists?

Be forewarned that I am putting on my satirical hat for this post so don’t take it too serious even if it does ring of truth.

The title of this post may shock some of my readers but that is what my Aspie side sometimes thinks when I sees some women. It just looks to me that too many 21st century women will go through whatever present and future pain is necessary to make themselves into what others expect.

2017-10-23_20-07-28.pngI know I have this maybe abnormal fixation on this topic but for the life of me I can’t understand why women continue to wear high heels, especially the seven inch variety that are now popular. I see so many women on TV that struggle to walk on their tip toes because the fashion authorities, whoever they are, tell them this is the latest style and of course they want to be stylish.

IMG_0394.jpgChanging subjects slightly I will let you in on a dirty dark secret. I am a mall walker. I spend most Thursday afternoons in a local mall briskly walking me two miles each week. One of the unofficial surveys I take during these walks is to count the number of women who are wearing heels higher than one inch.  I won’t keep you in suspense so I will tell you it is seldom more than three or so out of perhaps 200+ women I encounter. I like to say that the only people I see wearing high heels at the mall are the ones with half a brain as shown this picture I snapped there recently.

If high heels are so loved then why don’t women wear them all the time? I think this and other similar trends have something to do with peer pressure. Peer pressure is a powerful thing or at least I am told. I’m not sure if I personally ever felt a powerful need to do something simply because others were doing it but that is another post story I guess.

Closing out this post, I want to say I certainly support the idea that women are underrepresented when it come to middle and higher income level jobs. But I think part of the reason for that underrepresentation is they rightly or wrongly are seen as sheep instead of leaders. Or maybe it is because they are perceived as afraid to stand on their own and take off their high heels and all the paint they wear and show the world just who they really are. Now before you start piling on, I know there are men in these same straights. Maybe it is not high heel and makeup but something else for them.

The belief that a woman’s intelligence is inversely proportional to the height of her heels and the depth of her makeup maybe has something to do with them not always being taken seriously in the world.
